After his more than a decade of giving advice to broken-hearted listener, Papa Jack (John Gemperle) left 90.7 Love Radio Manila.
It was a very sad (for me) event in the radio industry knowing that a novelty will meet its end. His final episode of True Love Concersation (TLC) with DJ Kara karinyosa was very heart breaking. It was a real paradox because it was him who broke the hearts of his fans.
Immediately, the news scattered like a smoke in the air in our industry in radio. Some station were happy because it's a new opportunity in their programming while other are sad also.
In an interview, he revealed that he was planned to be moved on their afternoon time slot to uplift their rating but he said that he can't deliver the solution that they need in that slot. Also, he enjoys his program at night and his potentials are at night show.
However, he returned in the radio at Energy FM with his new name Papa Jackson. He opt to maintain his name and add some change to avoid conflict with his past station.
And recently, he had a reunion concert with DJ Kara karinyosa at the Padis Point Fairview.
The struggle for Papa Jackson right now as the new leader of the Energy FM team is to lift their ratings from the bottom of the list.
